Prior to the release of the bands new album and following their respected first album Volume One, The Besnard Lakes bring forth this 10” vinyl record.
Starting with the mysterious promise of a eno-esque thrumm and building into a Flaming Lips soundtrack to David Lynch’s Eraserhead. This is spectral drone with a nod to prime MBV’s subterranean melodies and ecstatic crescendos.
Two startling tunes reeking of violence and romanticism then.
Is this the new prog?

Some Facts:
The band are about to complete their second album in their new studio (Breakglass) that was hand built from the ground up.

Heck, Nick and Jamie from the Unicorns just finished recording there (with Mark Lawson engineering). Jace is recording the Donkeys right now and has also just finished recording Kiss me Deadly (with Sophie from godspeed/mount zion) which is due out in September on alien8. The ‘Lakes’ promise that the new record will be totally over the top and could well be released on a legendary US label.

A strictly limited 10” vinyl E.P. record with full colour sleeve and screen printed inserts in an edition of 500 copies.
